Action, Crime, Drama, Thriller
The most awaited series has finally arrived after much wait for the past few months and we can’t stop talking about it. Directed by Gurmeet Singh and Mihir Desai, Mirzapur 2 on Amazon Prime yet again focuses on who will get the territory secondarily, but this time with more enmity and bloodbath among the people of the lawless region. The series offers everything an Indian crime thriller has – guns, golis, Gaalis and Mirzapur ki Galiyan.
Picking up from where it was left, Guddu Pandit (Ali Faizal) along with Golu (Shweta Tripathi) and Dimpy (Harshita Gaur) managed to escape after the tragic attack by Munna Bhaiya at the wedding, which led to Sweety (Shriya Pilgaonkar)and Bablu’s (Vikrant Massey) death. The series begins when injured Guddu, Golu and Dimpy are on the run, hiding in a rusty old house. With boiling blood, Guddu has a motive to kill Tripathi and conquer Mirzapur. On the other hand, Munna (Divyenndu Sharma) is like a free bull and acts like a king, killing more people and making decisions on hot nerves.
Mirzapur Season 2 introduces some additional characters like Sharad Shukla seeking vengeance, the Tyagis who gives a new angle to the story, Isha Talwar as the powerful politician and Robin, whose famous ” Ye Bhi Theek hai” is a trending statement amongst the Millenials. Golu, aka Gajgamini, totally nails it with her new avatar with a fierce attitude. “Badi Nahi toh Choti jarur raaj karegi” had all our attention and her performance is worthy of praise. Kaleen Bhaiya is like the golden egg for the makers of the show. His performance in both seasons attracted many viewers with his impeccable acting skills. A man who makes his expressions talk louder than his words- such kind of brilliance Pankaj Tripathi has it in him.
Guddu takes toil as a more aggressive person but offers nothing new to fin fans that he hasn’t done before. The series takes a significant turn when the dear ones actually turn their back, changing the entire game and the equation among the people. This season also highlights women as robust, daring, and strong in different fields. As Beena Tripathi, Rasika Duggal fights back the patriarchal family led by male dominance and comes out like a silent tigress in the series. Sheeba Chaddha, Harshita Gaur, and Isha Talwar were as great as the rest of the cast.
Like Season 1, this season also taps incidents that kept the viewers hooked and jarred. This ten episodic series created by Puneet Krishna will keep you high on entertainment as the visuals are appealing and the dialogues crisp and fun. The sequence at some places appear exaggerated, but if you’re a true Mirzapur fan, nothing can stop you from loving the second season with a hope of Season 3 soon!
